Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Owlview (“Owlview”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Owlview websites and applications, including Owlview Cityscan and Owlview Studio (together, the “Service”). It applies to information about you as a user of the Service; the parcel, zoning, and property data the Service displays is drawn from public records and is not covered by this policy.
1. Information you provide
- Account information. When you register with email and password, we collect your email address and name. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider (Amazon Cognito); we never see or store your password itself.
- Profile and onboarding information. Details you choose to share when setting up your account, such as your professional role and the asset classes you work in.
- Access codes. Promotional or access codes you redeem.
- Communications. Information you include when you contact us, give feedback, or respond to our messages.
2. Information from Google sign-in
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a Google account identifier from Google. We use this only to create and authenticate your Owlview account. We do not request access to your contacts, files, calendar, or any other Google data.
3. Information we collect automatically
- Usage information. Actions you take in the Service, such as the addresses and parcels you search for and view, the reports you generate, the cities you access, and the credits you use. We keep this to operate usage limits, improve the product, and understand how the Service is used.
- Device and log information. IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, timestamps, and similar server-log data generated when you use the Service.
- Cookies and local storage. We use cookies and browser storage that are necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. If we adopt analytics or similar cookies in the future, we will update this policy.
When you use address search, the text you type is sent to Google’s Places and Geocoding services through our servers to return suggestions and map locations. Google’s handling of that data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
4. How we use information
- to provide, maintain, and secure the Service, including authentication and access control;
- to operate credits, access codes, and usage limits;
- to understand how the Service is used and to improve and develop it;
- to communicate with you about your account, support requests, and changes to the Service;
- with your consent or as you direct, to send you product news and updates (you can opt out at any time);
- to detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues; and
- to comply with legal obligations.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:
- With service providers that process it on our behalf to run the Service. Today these are Amazon Web Services (authentication, hosting, and databases), Cloudflare (content delivery and security), and Google (sign-in, address search, and geocoding). As the Service grows we may add providers in categories such as analytics, error monitoring, payments, and email delivery; any such providers will likewise be bound to process your information only on our instructions, and we will update this policy.
- For legal reasons, if we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Owlview, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer, such as the formation of a corporate entity for Owlview, a financing, merger, or acquisition, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
- With your consent or at your direction.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to operate the Service. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Aggregated or de-identified usage data that no longer identifies you may be retained.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit, managed authentication through Amazon Cognito, and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights and choices
You may access, correct, or delete your account information, or close your account, by emailing legal@owlview.ai. If you signed in with Google, you can also revoke Owlview’s access at any time in your Google account settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, such as the right to know what personal information we hold about you or to request its deletion; we honor such requests regardless of where you live. We will respond to requests within the time required by law.
9. Children
The Service is a professional tool intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves, for example when we add new features or service providers. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by email or an in-product notice, and will update the effective date above.
11. Contact
Owlview is operated from Texas, United States. For questions about this policy or your information, email legal@owlview.ai. See also our Terms of Service.
